Appearance:// Of a light to medium-light build, Cadeyrn is notable for his long, silky feathering and twisted horn. Typical to his heritage, he is of slight stature- approximately the average height for his herd and quite slim. He is an artistic sort, often sought out by others for aid in weaving baubles and renewing war paint. Personally, he delights in the collection of precious stones, the most revered of his collection never leaving it’s place around his neck while his other additions may come and go.

Cadeyrn’s pelt is a myriad of scars, made difficult to see by his light fur but nonetheless present- a product of his youth spent wandering the caverns of his homeland. Most notably and having the greatest affect on his ability, however, are those which cover his left eye. A close encounter with a jaguar as a fawn left him half-blind- while not a death sentence among his kind, a definite vulnerability. It is also the origin of the large tear through the same ear.

His seclusion from even his fellow herd has resulted in an unusual connection with the small animals which share his home. Rats in particular flock to him, aiding him in his artistic endeavours in exchange for warmth and what food he can share. They provide his more intricate paint, such as the runes along his dorsal stripe. It is not uncommon for him to sport numerous little paw prints as a result.

Personality:// Cadeyrn is an odd sort, even among his own kind. Born into Oakfern to seemingly unremarkable parents, the young stag cowered in their shadows, never straying beyond their watch. Any attempts by the other fawns to play or explore were met with near panic on behalf of the young Cadeyrn. Despite his withdrawn nature, the stag absorbed any and all that was taught to him. It quickly became clear that he was to walk the path of a shaman.

As a yearling, tragedy struck. Whilst journeying, the young stag and his parents, along with their small patrol, were ambushed by a jaguar. The cavern had largely collapsed beneath the mass of the predator, making escape impossible. The battle which ensued seemed to progress in slow motion as Cadeyrn watched his parents fall. By the time the beast fell before the warriors, it was too late.

Cadeyrn spent many seasons in a trance-like state, recovering from his own wounds. His youth faded, having perished alongside those he loved. Finally, many moons later, he returned to the sight of the attack. It was there he discovered a stone- a strange but beautiful object which seemed to glow in the darkness of the cave. It has never since left his side.

Cadeyrn took to wandering and mapping the caverns in self-imposed solitude. It was then he befriended the many creatures which shared his home, offering food and protection in exchange for whatever treasures they came across in their travels. He has lived as such ever since, becoming known amongst the herds for his extensive knowledge of the land and his delicate, painted markings. Those brave enough to seek him for his skill remark upon his curious mannerisms, though it is a small price to pay.
